Student Life

The Conservatory Student: Records have shown that youth engaged in the CSC curriculum and environment attain and maintain high GPA's while becoming poised role models and leaders in their every day social situations. Today, over 15 years after the organization's inception, 100% of students studying at the CSC have graduated from high school. Over 90% of graduating seniors garner acceptance and substantial scholarships to some of the nation's most prestigious universities, colleges, and conservatories. The CSC alumni utilize the inherent discipline of their studies to embark in careers that include medicine, engineering, law, history, literature, and education. The CSC celebrates numerous alumni that have gone on to professional arts experiences with national touring companies and such highly regarded treasures as the New York City Opera and Broadway. The CSC alumni say that above and beyond the excellent training they receive at the Conservatory, they also attain life skills such as responsibility, respect, community building, acceptance, and ownership; essential tools for life-long success.

At the Conservatory :

Throughout the school year, CSC offers an after school performing arts curriculum that serves students ages 4-19 from every socio-economic background within a one hundred mile radius of the Pikes Peak Region. The enrichment/immersion arts curriculum affords flexibility to each individual student in order to ensure the commitment and success of all students.  In an environment conducive to exploring the many facets of the arts, the young performing artist engages not only in classes and lessons, but also in the positive peer and social environment that evolves from participation at the Conservatory.
During the summer months weeklong day-camps are offered for students 7-13yrs as well as a 2 week summer intensive for student ages 14-19.
Our teaching method is student-centered, offering each individual the right balance of peer-coaching, teacher mentoring, and performance to foster the commitment and success of all students.   The CSC faculty includes the region’s finest arts educators, as well as visiting professors from several of the nation’s premier conservatories, including The Juilliard School, Berklee School of Music, Peabody Institute, and Oberlin Conservatory.
After 15 years of experience, CSC remains strongly committed to the success and all-around excellence of each student and can strategically define what is in the best interest of each student according to their individual desires and aspirations.

In the Community :

The foundation of the Colorado Springs Conservatory is collaborative partnerships. CSC views its collaborative efforts with our community businesses, organizations and leaders as optimal and invaluable learning experiences and opportunities for our students. CSC is committed to partnering with school districts as well as civic and arts organizations to provide our youth with an arts immersion program that builds self-esteem, social-interaction and community awareness, ultimately developing young, committed citizens who have confidence and a creative skill set. Together we can create a model for our students and students across the nation who are not just proficient but who desire to learn and who expect excellence in all that they do.
